Our thing fOr the day;

this a test. This is only a test. If your television displays real semicolons, please contact your local 401K company.

Ask them to emphasize the difference between ideas that are related and grammatically equal.

Say, "Excuse me, could you emphasize the difference between ideas that are related and grammatically equal?"

And they will say, "Yes, but we generally don't use the semicolon between parts that are not grammatically equal." And, "Your calculator is on too fast."

I hung up the phone and stared at the sponge. I turned around and walked back into the kitchen. I opened the refrigerator, and then I closed the refrigerator. I stood up straight. I felt proud. I didn't eat anything.

I read the newspaper today and saw an article about "Stubbing Out Public Smoking," and I thought, great: I don't smoke. I also don't speed, or do anything else illegal. All these rules have nothing to do with me. Why can't the newspaper write stories about me, about my life, about something that relates to me?

I'm hungry, and I will eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I don't have a peanut allergy, and I remember when Jimmy Carter was president. I was just a kid. But that was then and this is now. In other words, we are the semicolons.

I regret not having visited this blog before.

Are you still there? [Listens for echoes... for echoes... freckles... reccos... ecos...]

If only I had clicked my way through to this wonderful example of the form back in 2006! When the weblog of the American Center for Surreal and Paranoid Life was still live and its author active enough on the internet to leave a comment on realgem! What forms of interesting interaction may have been inspired?

Oh I do miss the blogging life... a time before Facebook and its silly vacuous 'likes' and 'shares'.

I trust you are well, and that life continues, centered and surreal and paranoid.
